GREVE STUDIOBorn in 1984 and raised in Berlin, Robert Keßler declared his love for modern jazz on his debut album "Jasmin" after studying guitar at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the Jazz Institute Berlin with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Jiggs Whigham. In the following years he opened up to blues, R'n'B, pop and country as well as to the music cultures of Latin America, Spain, Arabia and Eastern Europe, recorded the records "Emilias Lächeln" and "Moravica" with the band Klezmeyers and toured Europe with them. In 2021and 2022 he released his current trio albums "Bloodline" and "Little People".
As a sideman, Keßler was involved in productions of the Berlin Theater des Westens and the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, recorded soundtracks and worked with artists such as Jocelyn B. Smith, Elen Wendt, New York Voices, Udo Lindenberg, Felix Jaehn as well as Herbert Grönemeyer. Since 2017 he is professor for guitar and ensemble at the SRH University Berlin, School of Popular Arts, where he led the music production and popular music courses until 2023.
Andreas Henze studied classical double bass at the Kassel Music Academy. In addition to his busy work as a theatre musician at various theatres ( Berliner Ensemble, Kurfürstendamm Theater, Kleines Theater, Schauspielhaus Hamburg ), he travels the world with many ensembles of different styles such as jazz, Latin American music and singer/songwriters.
Emanuel Hauptmann
Born on a holy December holiday of the wild sixties in snow-covered Munich Hauptmann became to see the light of this world on Monday noon. Growing up in a very artistic household full of music, the influences were in a way predetermined and determined Hauptmann’s way into music sustainably. At the tender age of around five or six, his parents carelessly gave him a small children’s drum kit. Any efforts to dissuade him failed …
Since the beginning of the 90s, jazz drummer Emanuel Hauptmann has been playing and working as a session musician, band leader, sound engineer, producer and composer in his adopted home of Berlin. He accompanies in long-standing projects, music and theater, film & TV, art and literature productions that have determined his professional life ever since then.
